What is PRP?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections have been around for many years.  It has effectively been used to treat many health conditions in the body, ranging from orthopedic injections for arthritis to repairing soft tissue injuries such as labral tears, tendinitis, and muscle tears.  At BioCure, we use the most cutting-edge technology to isolate the highest concentration of platelets in our specimens, for the absolute best results with our procedures.  Our practice prides itself in utilizing an Advanced 510K Class II Medical Device, which means that it is a highly effective, FDA-approved, and safe way to offer Platelet Therapy to our patients.

How it works:

After our Orthopedic Specialist evaluates your condition and recommends our PRP procedures, you are scheduled in for a procedure day.

Maximal Results in 4-simple Steps:
  • Step 1:  A small sample of your blood is taken into a specialized blood collection tube
  • Step 2:  That tube is placed into the Drucker Next Generation Centrifuge, where it is spun at high speeds to separate the red blood cells from the platelets and plasma
  • Step 3:  Depending on the procedure, the practitioner will retrieve the PRP, PPP, and/or the Buffy Coat layer at a concentration of 7-9 times the average PRP procedure
  • Step 4:  Using ultrasound guidance, for the most precise procedure possible, our practitioner injects the specimen into the affected area for maximal repair and regeneration

The BioCure Advantage:

At BioCure we offer multiple PRP Therapies to our patients.  We understand that everyone is different and has different needs.

Ultra PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

We offer Ultra-High Concentrated Platelet Therapy which is recommended for repairing damaged tissue.  All of our PRP procedures come coupled with Ozone.  This allows for the cells, proteins, growth factors, and peptides in our plasma to be fully activated and supersaturated with oxygen, due to the Ozone gas.

PRFM ( Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix)

Utilizing the same separation process described above, we then introduce the plasma into an incubator, where the liquid plasma becomes a hyper-viscous substance.  This extremely thick plasma substance creates space in large joints to assist in the decrease of pain, reduction of bone-on-bone grinding, and the repair of damaged arthritic joints.
